Go Places With Toyota of Bristol in Bristol, TN

With a vibrant downtown and plenty of attractions, the city of Bristol is far from boring. There are many sights across our beautiful city, and each one deserves a long, uninterrupted visit. Forget about that cross-country road trip — there's plenty to see and do right here in our hometown. Go ahead and strap in your fuel-efficient Toyota Venza, RAV4, Highlander or Corolla Hybrid — we've got some exploring to do around the great city of Bristol, Tennessee!

Bristol Motor Speedway

We can't think of a better way to celebrate the achievements of the automobile than with a visit to the Bristol Motor Speedway. Whether it's to watch high-speed races or to participate in a holiday light show directly on the track, you'll be impressed by the size and gravity of Tennessee's "Thunder Valley." Also known as "The Last Great Colosseum," the Bristol Motor Speedway has a stadium-like structure, which allows it to be used for a variety of events, not just NASCAR races. Fans will also get to enjoy the Colossus TV, the world's largest outdoor center-hung four-sided video screen with a 540,000-watt audio system.

Bristol Caverns

Maybe a giant raceway isn't your thing — how about taking your Toyota to visit the timeless beauty of Bristol Caverns instead? It's one of Bristol's most visited tourist attractions, filled with paved, well-lighted walkways that weave between vaulted chambers, massive columns of stalactite and stalagmite and the Underground River. It took nature millions of years to build these gorgeous, intricate formations, filled with color-rich minerals of red, blue, gray, brown and sparkling white. You'll be taken to three levels of the caverns on your tour to view the Entrance Hall, Lover's Leap and the breathtaking Bridal Veil formation. Just don't leave your phone in the car — you'll want your camera with you for these sights!

Birthplace of Country Music Museum

The Birthplace of Country Music Museum may not be millions of years old, but back in the summer of 1927, record producer Ralph Peer made music history. For twelve days that summer, Peer conducted sessions with 19 performers, recording 76 songs. Known as the famous "Bristol Sessions," Johnny Cash called them "the most important event in the history of country music." That legacy lives on in Bristol, and you can step back in time with a visit to the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. Get your tickets to tour the museum, purchase wristbands for the annual music festival or research upcoming events before you miss out!

Rocky Mount State Historic Site

Would you like to experience how 18th century Americans lived in the Southwest Territory? Visit the Rocky Mount State Historic Site, home to the annual Harvest Festival, Haunting on the Mount and the Thomas Jefferson Dinner. The year-round attraction is the tour of the site — you can book yours for either the first-person interpretative guided tour or the self-guided tour through the indoor museum gallery. With a rich history spanning back to 1770, the Rocky Mount State Historic Site ensures you'll have plenty to do and see.

The Mendota Trail

Maybe the great outdoors has enough adventure for you — in that case, visit the Mendota Trail. It's a 12.5-mile hiking and biking recreational trail that spans between the Virginian side of Bristol and Mendota, Virginia. You can sign up to run the annual 5K or unlock the stroller, leash the dog or simply take a solitary walk among tranquil countryside and forests. There are three trailheads to start from, so go ahead — enjoy the great outdoors on the Mendota Trail!

Twin City Drive-in Theater

Perhaps you'd like to stay inside your cozy Toyota and catch a movie! Drive over to the Twin City Drive-in Theater, just one mile north of the Bristol Motor Speedway. Since 1949, the drive-in theater has been open to the public on weekends during the spring and fall and nightly during the summer. Movie lovers can catch classics, animation, dramas, horrors and more. Two movies are shown — the first is more kid-friendly, and the second is more adult-friendly. Doubling as a temporary campground for the speedway, the Twin City Drive-in Theater has a snack bar with restrooms, private hot showers, shady trees and more.
